A string of events – culminating with a tournament at the USA Science & Engineering Festival on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. – provided a launch pad for mass-media to cover the You CAN Do the Rubik’s Cube program. CNN, ESPN, NPR, The TODAY Show, MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and many more spotlighted kids working together to solve the Rubik’s Cube and teachers sharing their success stories using the Rubik’s Cube as a classroom tool.

In 2010, Seven Towns, the master toy licensor of the Rubik’s Cube® brand, tapped 360PR to help grow their new U.S. community initiative, the You CAN Do The Rubik’s Cube program. 360PR recognized the opportunity to increase visibility and participation in the program by engaging youth, parents and educators through a combination of grass-root events and social media.

360PR developed an integrated, social media strategy and comprehensive calendar of activity to engage teachers, parents and teens in a discussion about the learning benefits of the Rubik’s Cube. The team launched an official Facebook fan page, which quickly became one of the top-5 referring sites to the program’s website, YouCanDoTheCube.com, and an official You CAN Do The Rubik’s Cube YouTube channel with the video assets from off-line events.  360PR also engaged influential mom and education bloggers in the program, inspiring dozens of positive reviews of the program and providing kits to bloggers to share with schools in their communities.
